Psychotherapy for Children, Adolescents and Adults
Whether you are looking for help for your child or yourself, I am here to help. Sometimes a family may be dealing with an acute issue that is causing distress, or the members are looking to understand themselves or their relationships better. I have a broad range of experience, working with individuals at different stages of life with varying concerns, including stress management, anxiety, social anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and relationship issues.
Therapy can be a way to help you, or your family feel better and improve how you respond to day-to-day stress. It can decrease feelings of anger, frustration, depression, or anxiety. I can help you identify and change areas that are problematic for you, your child or your family, as well as learn ways to solve problems, and adapt to life's challenges.
I am also a certified perinatal mental health provider. While many experience mild mood changes during or after the birth of a child, 15 to 20 percent of women experience more significant symptoms of depression, anxiety, and OCD. Symptoms can appear any time during pregnancy and the first 12 months after childbirth. I offer a safe space where you can process emotions, and be with you on your journey to wellness.

About
My Approach
In my work with children, adults and families, I offer a compassionate non-judgmental approach to psychotherapy. I believe that that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of success in treatment. I also view therapy as a collaborative process that can help people find happiness and a sense of purpose and contentment in their lives. We will work together to deepen your understanding of yourself, and create more satisfying relationships with yourself and others.
When working with individuals and families, I pay attention to the family relational system, while helping my clients create positive meaning in their lives. I also employ some Cognitive-Behavioral and Mindfulness techniques throughout therapy to give clients practical tools and to help them better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are linked together, and how these elements affect the self and others.
I’m looking forward to working with you.
My Background
Marriage & Family Therapy is my second career. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College in New York, with concentrations in psychology and writing, I moved to Los Angeles to complete a Master’s Degree in Journalism at the University of Southern California. I worked in journalism and public relations in Los Angeles for 15 years.
I have always been interested in psychology and felt that becoming a therapist was my calling. I returned to school and earned my master’s degree in 2016. I received most of my clinical training at the Antioch University Counseling Center, where I have worked in a variety of settings, including the AUCC school-based program, providing individual therapy to elementary and middle school students; with adults 65+ at the Culver City Senior Center; and as a therapist for couples, families, and individual adolescents and adults at the center’s main clinic. I also worked as an associate in private practice at Child Parent Connection Redondo Beach, where focused on treating children and their families, as well as on maternal mental health.

Individual Therapy
There are many reasons you may be seeking therapy. Perhaps you are experiencing anxiety, low-self esteem, depression, a life transition, or grief. Sometimes you just feel stuck. I provide a therapy experience where you will feel seen and heard. I will help you identify and find strategies to solve current problems, and improve positive thinking and behavior in coping with life's obstacles.
Children and Adolescents
Therapy allows children and adolescents a safe non-judgmental space to feel understood, and the ability to express themselves creatively and gain self-awareness. Therapy with a teen will look different than sessions with a younger child. Through the medium of play, I can help children learn more effective communication, coping, and self-regulation skills as they navigate their way in the world. With teens, therapy may focus on the issues surrounding the tensions that result from this time of transition and identity formation as they move toward greater independence and pull away from parents. Therapy may also include fostering better communication between teen and parent.
Family Therapy
Each family is unique and comes with its own way of being. There can be tension in the dance between the individual needs of the members and that of the family. Sometimes what has worked for a family in the past stops working, or an issue comes to define family interaction. Sometimes a family struggles with a loss or a transition. Family therapy can improve communication between members and resolve conflicts. It can help with individuals' specific problems, or more general parenting issues. I can help families learn new and better ways to interact.
Couples Therapy
There are many reasons couples come to therapy. We all want to feel loved, accepted and understood in our relationships. Problems in a relationship may range from the pressures of work and family having a negative impact on intimacy, broken trust, or feeling stuck in a negative pattern. Couples counseling can help you define and build the relationship you want. Therapy is a place where couples can feel safe exploring their relationship, investigating each partner’s strengths, perspectives and priorities as they move toward growth. I work with all types of couples to help resolve conflict, deepen trust, and improve communication.
